Poetry Off The Wall: Part Three, Kayla Schwab

Today’s post comes from Gabrielle Miranda, class of 2018 and Art Center Student Docent.

This is part three of a six part series. To learn more about the Poetry Off the Wall series, view the first post here.

Kayla Schwab is a junior English major with a Studio Art correlate. She will be writing her thesis next fall on ekphrasis as it relates to her creation of poetry and painting. Kayla is from Raritan, New Jersey, and lives with her loving parents and her two younger sisters, Kristin and Karissa.

Kayla’s “Reproduction” after Edvard Munch’s 1880 painting The Seine at St. Cloud comprises the third part of the Poetry Off the Wall series. The poem truly captures what it means for the author to engage the painting. Listen as she aptly describes entering the world that Munch has created.
