Poetry Off The Wall: Part Five, Michaela Coplen

Today’s post comes from Gabrielle Miranda, class of 2018 and Art Center Student Docent.

This is part five of a six part series. To learn more about the Poetry Off the Wall series, view the first post here.

This penultimate installment features the work of sophomore Michaela Coplen. Michaela is an International Studies major with correlates in Arabic and English. Much of her work references history and the military and her interpretation of Gustave Doré’s The Defense of Paris from 1871 works well within the logic of her other poems. Her poem is called “November 14, 2015” and references the day after the terrorist attacks on Paris this past fall.
